Coleen Kelly Mast, Terry Polakovic and Mother Assumpta Long to headline 2010 Catholic Women’s Conference
 
The 3rd Annual Columbus Catholic Women’s Conference will be held at the Lausche Building, Ohio Expo Center on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 from 8:00AM-3:30PM. Cost for the event is $25.00, $15.00 for students. There is a $5.00 parking fee at the Ohio Expo Center.
 
This day offers a very special time for women of the Diocese of Columbus and beyond. The Keynote Speaker is Dr. Coleen Kelly Mast author, radio talk show host, and pioneer in the field of chastity education. Dr. Coleen currently hosts a popular radio show “The Doctor Is In” produced and syndicated by Ave Maria Radio for more than 100 stations of the Catholic Radio Association, EWTN, and Sirius Satellite Radio. She assisted with the writings of USCC Bishops 1992 document on Human Sexuality Education Guidelines and in 1997 was one of the four people from the US invited to the Vatican for an in depth study of “Truth and Meaning of Human Sexuality”. Mast has written education programs and books for teachers, parents, and teens titled “Love and Life” and “Sex Respect” published by Ignatius Press. She has appeared on Mother Angelica Live, Oprah, 60 Minutes, Geraldo, and Steubenville High School Youth Conferences and has debated Presidents of SEICUS, Planned Parenthood and ACLU representatives. She has been married for 30 years to Kent Mast and have 5 children.
 
The day also features speakers Terry Polakovic and Mother Assumpta Long, O.P. Terry is co-founder of the ENDOW (Educating on the Nature and Dignity of Women) Study Guides founded in 2003 an organization educating women on the nature of dignity of women.  Terry Polakovic brings 25 years of non-profit organizational leadership to grow ENDOW from an idea into an international women’s ministry. Terry serves on several Catholic boards in her home and her and her husband have two young adult children. Mother Assumpta Long, O.P. is the Prioress General of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist in Ann Arbor, Mi. The Dominican Sisters of Mary, mother of the Eucharist was founded in 1997 by Mother Assumpta and three other Dominican sisters. The community’s primary apostolate is Catholic education in the spirit of the New Evangelization; fully Dominican in spirituality, the two distinguishing marks of the community’s charism are devotion to Jesus in the Holy Eucharist and total consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
 
The Theme of this year’s conference is “Faith, Hope, & Love”. Mass begins the day with Most Reverend Bishop Frederick F. Campbell as celebrant. Reconciliation is offered with priests from throughout the Dioceses. The $25.00 fee ($15.00 for students, free to religious sisters) includes Mass, reconciliation service, all speaker programs, breakfast, Catholic vendors and diocesan representative booths, a light lunch, and the concluding prayer service.
