Office for Social Concerns
Catholic Diocese of Columbus
Information and Response Network
The Office for Social Concerns (OSC) monitors developing public policy issues at the local, state, national, and international levels and coordinates responses to be sent to key policymakers. OSC will activate the Information and Response Network and send action alerts to those in the network when a priority issue develops and there is a need for a timely response.
The primary sources of Action Alerts are from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, United States Catholic Conference, Catholic Conference of Ohio, and Office for Social Concerns. Additional sources include disaster response alerts from Catholic Relief Services, Catholic Charities USA, and our diocesan Disaster Response Office.
Subscribers will receive alerts on issues such as abortion, euthanasia, death penalty, those affecting senior citizens and persons with disabilities, disaster response, economic justice, human rights, rural life, environmental justice, and other domestic social development and international justice and peace issues. The Office for Social concerns will also periodically send messages on upcoming events.
