Since 1843, the Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) has been providing basic support to children in mission countries, including education and health care efforts. As children here in the U.S. offer their prayers and sacrifices, they can be assured that children in the missions also come to experience the abundant love of our Lord through the service of local priests, Religious and lay missionaries.
By participating in the programs and activities of MCA through your school or parish, children learn about their brothers and sisters in mission countries – children just like them! And they also discover that their own prayers, personal sacrifices and financial help make a faith-filled difference for their mission family – and make them missionaries today, right where they are.
MCA’s award-winning newsletter, It’s Our World, is now FREE! The newsletter, which connects U.S. children to children in mission countries, and teaches them about life in the missions through stories, activities and prayer, will be published as Fall, Spring and Summer. This publication may be ordered for the appropriate grade level (K-1, 2-3, 4-5 and 6-8). A Leader’s Guide is provided for each liturgical season, with activities and critical thinking questions.
Advent and Lent are opportunities to teach children of the importance of their Baptismal call to mission — and the related call to prayer and sacrificial giving, so that others come to know Jesus, and experience the love, hope and peace that comes through faith in Him. Order our Leader’s Guide for each season, and use our coin boxes, envelopes or folders to collect offerings for mission children. Prayer services for each season are also available online.
Online Ordering! All orders for materials (most are free!) are placed online at www.MCAKids.org. It's easy, convenient, secure, and you can track your orders!
