About Us

From the very beginning, St. Therese's has always been a House of Retreats. Begun over seventy years ago in 1931, by Bishop James J. Hartley, the Center has been a "Quiet place where people may come and rest for a while," a place to slow down and be refreshed, a place of peace. It's greatest charm is its simplicity.

In fulfilling St. Therese's Retreat Center's mission of responding to the needs of the people of God, the Center offers hospitality for group retreats of men, women, priests, and religious. Our Center is used by youth groups, senior citizens, parish ministers, ecumenical gatherings, and a limited number of other non-profit groups.

Although the majority of the guests who stay at St. Therese's come as part of a group, we do offer individuals the opportunity for private retreats Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm. 53 individual bedrooms and 24 double bed rooms. All the bedrooms are furnished with a sink, mirror, linens and towels, blankets, drinking glass, and bible. The guests share restrooms and showers conveniently located near their rooms. The Center is handicap accessible.

St. Therese's has three meeting rooms available. Meals are served and light refreshments are available for retreatants and conference attendees. Our main conference room and the dining room are air-conditioned. The other meeting rooms and the individual rooms, however, are not.

Our beautiful stone chapel is modeled after small European churches and is truly holy ground, a place filled with the presence of God. Our well maintained grounds offer retreatants a quiet space to walk, explore, and appreciate the outdoors. Benches are placed conveniently so guests can pause to reflect, relax, or read. There are also outdoor Stations of the Cross and a Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes.

St. Therese's is conveniently situated on East Broad Street. It is located ten minutes from Port Columbus International Airport, inside the Columbus outerbelt 270, and twenty minutes from downtown.

Because our mission is to minister to the spiritual needs of God's people, St. Therese's is not available for rental to businesses or for use as an alternative lodging for travelers.
